Hay

• $10 per small bale barn stored premium horse hay. Approximately 60 lbs
• $185 per bale 6×7 large round bales. Approximately 1,800-2,000 lbs

Our hay is premium quality, approximately 90% grass & 10% alfalfa. We do have some 90% alfalfa & 10% grass fields that we bail but far less of that. We primarily have 90% grass hay bailed into either small squares that weigh about 65 lbs., or large rounds that are approximately 6×7 feet & weigh about 2,000 lbs. because they are bailed so tight.

All of our hay is barn stored & we are very careful to cut are the right time in order to keep the rain off of it. Very rarely we do have some hay that gets rained on & we rake that hay & turn it until it is dry & then bail it. We sell those bales for a discounted price if we have any. Fortunately we usually don’t. If you are looking for a specific type of grass hay like Timothy or other stuff, this is probably not the right hay for you. I don’t know what kind of grass it is. It’s the kind of grass that horses & cows like to eat.
